Deshaun Watson makes the Carolina Panthers an instant contender

Deshaun Watson when healthy is a top-five quarterback in this League. We watched him go toe-to-toe with Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes with far less support from the Houston Texans roster and his coaching staff, who were inferior from a talent standpoint in 2020.

We watched as Watson absorbed hit after hit behind a patchwork offensive line and continued to make plays and keep his team in games.

Outside of the New York Jets or Jacksonville Jaguars, add Watson to any roster in the NFL and you have to consider the team a contender.

He is truly that special as an athlete.

For the Carolina Panthers, they would become instant challengers to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and certainly be favorites to make the playoffs.

The last time we saw Watson in the playoffs we would be remiss not to mention an epic collapse to the Kansas City Chiefs. However, the quarterback did everything he could during what ended up being a classic example of how inept the coaching staff and defense had become despite having good pieces at the time.

Adding Watson makes the Panthers NFC contenders. Something they are well aware of and the only reason the team is still considering this trade, according to reports.
