Morgan Fox – Carolina Panthers DL

There is a quiet sense of intrigue about what Morgan Fox can bring to the Carolina Panthers next season. The defensive lineman has a career year with the Los Angeles Rams in 2020 and has the sort of versatility that the coaching staff absolutely love judging by their recruitment of late.

Fox is seen as a three-technique replacement for Efe Obada in obvious pass-rushing situations. However, the player also took plenty of starting reps as the starting right defensive end opposite Brian Burns over the first week of practice.

Again, it’s early days.

But Fox might have the edge currently over second-year-pro Yetur Gross-Matos, who is looking to make more of an impression in 2021 after showing flashes of capability during his rookie campaign.

Regardless of who wins this particular position battle, both Fox and Gross-Matos should have a big part to play next season. The Panthers have been deploying the free-agent signing on a 3-4 front and in their more typical 4-3 scheme, so the possibilities are endless as to how he can be used.

Fox’s veteran leadership has also stood out at camp so far, which is sure to be a massive boost when the real action begins.
