Christian McCaffrey – Carolina Panthers RB

  • Running back to cornerback

If there was a competition for the most athletic players on the Carolina Panthers roster, Christian McCaffrey would probably be the top guy.

Already one of the best running backs in the league, McCaffrey is very versatile getting into the open field and receiving as well. Despite missing 13 games in 2020, he is still considered the NFL’s best dual-threat back and should cement this status next season.

McCaffrey even threw a touchdown two years ago as a part of a trick play.

While it’s known that McCaffrey could easily play wide receiver or even some quarterback, many don’t realize he was a cornerback in high school at Valor Christian in Colorado.

He was recruited for his offensive ability. But the fact that he has experience being on the defensive side of the ball could help him if the All-Pro ever has to transition.

With his speed and catching ability, McCaffrey could make for a pacey defensive back in the secondary. But one suspects Carolina doesn’t want their face of the franchise switching to this side of the football anytime soon.
