Sam Darnold is building chemistry with top playmakers

Chemistry is key for Sam Darnold and the Carolina Panthers this season. Something else that’s made noticeable strides in Week 2 of training camp.

Darnold is bringing on the timing of his throws in an eye-catching fashion. There are still mistakes that need to be worked out at times, but the progression being made is there for all to see.

Having elite weapons across the board is going to get Darnold out of jail plenty in 2021. The offensive line still poses a real concern, so having players that can get open quickly is a crucial component to whatever success comes Carolina’s way this time around.

The signal-caller has made the most out of his previous relationship with Robby Anderson to produce some notable highlights over the last week. His chemistry with D.J. Moore and Terrace Marshall Jr. is also coming along nicely.

However, perhaps the most important blossoming partnership comes with Dan Arnold. The free-agent signing from the Arizona Cardinals could be a nice security blanket for Darnold across the middle and in the red zone, which is where the Panthers struggled to make a difference more often than not in 2020.

Add Christian McCaffrey into the mix and there is nothing to suggest Darnold cannot reignite his career with the Panthers and potentially lead the team to a winning record for the first time since 2017.
