Who is currently winning the important positional battles within the wide receiver room at Carolina Panthers training camp so far?

Although it’s important to remember there is still a long way to go for the Carolina Panthers ahead of the 2021 season, some players are already coming to the fore over the first period of training camp. This is always an exciting time of year and crucial to depth chart positioning, something that’s clearly coming with an increased sense of urgency with every passing practice.

One of the more fascinating areas comes at the wide receiver position. The Panthers boast one of the league’s best outside tandems in D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson, with some strong recruitment this offseason further bolstering their options despite losing Curtis Samuel to the Washington Football Team in free agency.

It’s been fun to watch this group go up against an improved Carolina secondary that now has a potential stud on their hands in No. 8 overall selection Jaycee Horn. Almost every wideout on the Panthers has had their moments, which makes it even tougher for the coaching staff to decide just who to bring through onto the roster.

The return of preseason games to the schedule before Week 1 against the New York Jets will tip the scales one way or another.

Impressing during drills and 11-on-11 is one thing. Making the most out of the targets that come their way is even more crucial.

There’s been a lot to unpack at wide receiver so far. But just who is in pole position for roster positions so far?
