5 big observations from practice Day 10 at Panthers training camp

Carolina Panthers LB Paddy Fisher finding his feet
There is some real momentum being generated by Paddy Fisher at Carolina Panthers training camp. The linebacker has really brought on his contribution of late, with Sunday’s practice arguably his best so far.
Fisher was a notable presence in Carolina’s red zone drills, forcing a fumble and coming up with two other stops that caught the eye of those in attendance.
This will serve the undrafted free-agent well ahead of preseason games. The Panthers aren’t blessed with anything significant from a depth standpoint at the second level, so if Fisher impresses in a gameday scenario then it might come with a shock spot on the 53-man roster.
The Northwestern product also has a fan in former Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith, who declared during Friday’s memorable Fan Fest at Bank of America Stadium he’d been impressed by what he’s seen from the linebacker so far.
Carolina seems to be churning out the bottom of their roster almost daily to get a look at as many players as possible. This means there is no margin for error where players like Fisher are concerned, but he’s done enough to suggest a place on the practice squad should be a minimum target for the player.
