5 trades to strengthen Panthers QB options behind Sam Darnold

Jake Fromm – Buffalo Bills
One of the more head-scratching moves of the offseason was when the Buffalo Bills signed quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. They had just spent draft capital on Jake Fromm and have a dynamic signal-caller in Josh Allen who doesn’t have a history of being injured.
However, for whatever reason, they added Trubisky and this pushed Fromm further down the depth chart.
For the Carolina Panthers, this is a potential opportunity.
It is hard to see the Bills carrying all three quarterbacks for the season’s entirety. Trubisky is an established player and the team didn’t bring him on board not to become Allen’s primary backup.
This makes Fromm inconsequential and gives the Panthers a chance to acquire a quality option with some upside. He isn’t a huge upgrade over P.J. Walker but is a solid game-manager that can pick things up relatively quickly.
He played in many big games during his time at Georgia and doesn’t turn the ball over. Fromm is exactly what you want in a backup. A system player who is going to take care of the football and run the offense he is given.
If the Bills are forced to move on from one of their quarterbacks as one suspects, Fromm could likely be acquired easily. A move Carolina should make if given the opportunity.
