Jacoby Brissett – Miami Dolphins

Whether Jacoby Brissett is available or not is up for debate. And the only question when it comes to this potential move.

Brissett is perfect for the Carolina Panthers. He fits the roster and will not threaten Sam Darnold while giving him a very capable backup.

Brissett started with the Indianapolis Colts and was very similar to what the Panthers saw from quarterback Teddy Bridgewater last season. He is going to calmly lead the offense and take care of the football with little risk running the system as it is intended.

This also means it wouldn’t be a big-play offense.

However, if the backup is inserted the season has already gone awry.

Brissett backing up Darnold is a dream scenario that is unlikely if only for the fact one suspects the player won’t leave the Miami Dolphins unless a team overpays.

Miami doesn’t fully buy into their starting quarterback. No matter the reports from camp, the Dolphins might err on the side of caution with Tua Tagovailoa and for that reason, it would be surprising if the Panthers were able to add Brissett.

Still, he is certainly a player they should check in on. And one who would be perfect in Carolina’s system.
