4 key observations from practice Day 11 at Panthers training camp

Sean Chandler finding his feet with the Carolina Panthers
Head coach Matt Rhule stated how well Sean Chandler is adjusting to new surroundings after Sunday’s practice. Something that was there for all to see once again at the start of Week 3 on Monday.
The safety has previous knowledge of Phil Snow’s defensive scheme from their time together at Temple. This has clearly smoothed the transition and considering the lack of depth at the position, there is a big opportunity for Chandler to earn a roster spot and some notable reps during the campaign.
Sam Franklin and Myles Hartsfield look set to give Chandler a run for his money for the primary backup job behind Jeremy Chinn and Juston Burris, the two projected starters heading into the new season.
Much like many spots on the depth chart, preseason games could make all the difference and Chandler needs to prove he can fully match expectations when push comes to show in a game situation.
Rhule and his staff know how Chandler is best used. Even though his NFL career has been a struggle to impress so far, which is normally associated with undrafted players looking to find their way.
It’s been a good start for Chandler. But what comes next will ultimately determine his fate.
