Morgan Fox- Carolina Panthers DL

Initial thoughts of Morgan Fox when he arrived in free agency were mixed. The defensive lineman was projected to become part of the rotation and potentially impact proceedings as a three-technique after Efe Obada wasn’t brought back.

However, we could be seeing a lot of Fox in 2021 judging by early impressions.

The Carolina Panthers are utilizing Fox as the starting right defensive end opposite Brian Burns, with DaQuan Jones and Derrick Brown on the interior. This quartet has made their presence felt in no uncertain terms during camp so far and hopefully, it’s a trend that can continue when competitive action begins.

Fox showed what he can do if given the opportunity last season. He was highly productive for the Los Angeles Rams on his way to six sacks, which could be the catalyst of bigger and better things to come.

At least on the outside looking in, Fox has adjusted well to a different environment. Providing this continues before Week 1, the sky is the limit for this defensive front.

Expectations weren’t low for Fox by any stretch. But the Panthers can look at his contribution during training camp so far with huge encouragement.
