  • LT3 on Panthers unofficial depth chart

If Greg Little was hoping to force his way into the team’s plans, he’s not off to a good start judging by the unofficial depth chart released by the Carolina Panthers. The offensive lineman is sitting third in the left tackle standings behind Cam Erving and Trenton Scott, which doesn’t exactly indicate a great deal of confidence coming his way from the coaching staff.

Little has failed to meet pre-draft expectations. Especially considering the Panthers made a bold move up in the second round to select the Ole Miss prospect in 2019.

No influential member from that decision-making process is now with the organization. They clearly see Little far differently judging by his lack of involvement last season and his early efforts at training camp means a potential release is now a distinct possibility.

Cutting Little before the season would save the Panthers around $1.1 million and come with a dead-cap figure of $893,895, according to Over the Cap. More importantly, the selection would undoubtedly go down as one of the biggest busts in team history.

Things look bleak. But all hope is not lost for Little.

It’s absolutely imperative he makes the most out of whatever reps come his way in warmup games. This might also see Little utilized on the interior as well as the edge.
