The impression left by Myles Hartsfield in 2020 was pretty solid all things considered. The versatile player proved no occasion was too big after rising from undrafted free agency to gain some notable reps on defense during his rookie campaign that could be a solid foundation from which to build a successful career.

Hartsfield cannot get complacent. This would be nothing short of catastrophic for the player’s chances and something that won’t be tolerated by head coach Matt Rhule or his staff.

Seeing Hartsfield as the fourth strong safety behind Juston Burris, Sam Franklin, and Sean Chandler might not be that much of a surprise when one considers how well the backup duo has performed at training camp so far.

The Carolina Panthers have high hopes for Franklin and Chandler’s really come into his own over the last week after a period of adjustment. This might leave Hartsfield on the outside looking in unless the second-year-pro shines during the preseason.

Hartsfield has dealt with a lot of adversity to get himself to this point. Taking another big challenge head-on will go a long way to securing a roster position for the second straight campaign in 2021.
