Sean Chandler- Carolina Panthers S

The Carolina Panthers need safety depth with the roster at the position being pretty thin after Juston Burris and Jeremy Chinn, and fourth-year player Sean Chandler might be the surprising answer to help solve that problem.

Chandler is still just 25-years-old. Despite entering his fourth season in the league, he was on and off the New York Giants roster his first three seasons in the NFL before signing with the Panthers and rejoining his former college head coach Matt Rhule.

This being Chandler’s first full offseason in Carolina, the safety has turned heads in Spartanburg with multiple pass deflections, a couple of forced fumbles, and even an interception during Fan Fest, which saw more than 21,000 descend on Bank of America Stadium for what was a marvelous occasion.

There is still a chance Chandler doesn’t make the roster depending on how many safeties the Panthers actually want to keep. But he’s made a strong impression this camp and needs to perform well in the team’s preseason games to keep his roster hopes alive.

Providing there are no complications and missed assignments where Chandler is concerned, he might be able to do just enough to make the roster when final cuts are made.
