5 young Carolina Panthers players who have turned it on at camp

Daviyon Nixon- Carolina Panthers DT
Drafted in the fifth round of the draft this year, Daviyon Nixon has already shown flashes of being a potential steal for the Carolina Panthers.
The defensive tackle position is thin for Carolina and with some assistance needed behind Derrick Brown and DaQuan Jones, Nixon could prove to be an up-and-coming guy if the way he is performing is any indication of the future player he is.
Nixon has also drawn praise from head coach Matt Rhule for the way he’s performed during the early stages of camp. Something that can become a real confidence boost for the Iowa product ahead of preseason games.
"“Daviyon Nixon, I’ve been very pleased with. I think he’s shown some quickness, I think he’s shown some explosiveness.”"
At 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, Nixon was already listed as the backup defensive tackle behind Brown on the team’s first unofficial depth chart, which was released on Tuesday.
With the pressure on Nixon relatively low, the rookie interior lineman has the perfect opportunity to just work hard and learn as much as he can to be a key part of Carolina’s future on defense.
However, considering the character concerns that surfaced during the evaluation process, it’s a case of so far, so good.
