6 shining stars from the Carolina Panthers first preseason game

Terrace Marshall Jr. – Carolina Panthers WR
It’s safe to say the Carolina Panthers have a good one in Terrace Marshall Jr. The wide receiver wasted no time in stamping his authority on his debut NFL game for a leading contribution to the team’s cause in the first half.
Marshall has made a lasting impression during training camp so far. The LSU product built on this positive momentum at the Indianapolis Colts on his way to three catches for 88 receiving yards to further enhance expectations about what the wideout can bring to an already loaded passing attack.
This was a standout performance and one Marshall can take a great deal of encouragement from. His ability to influence proceedings all over the field was especially evident, which the Panthers will need right out of the gate to compensate for the loss of Curtis Samuel.
If Marshall’s stock was high before this preseason game, it’s through the roof now.
Injury problems caused Marshall to drop from a projected first-rounder all the way to Carolina at No. 59 overall after they traded down.
There were bigger needs at the time. But finding a dynamic playmaker such as Marshall still sitting there was an opportunity too good to pass up.
If the receiver can take this confidence into the two remaining warmup games and the regular season itself, Marshall might be in for a phenomenal rookie campaign.
