5 individual battles to watch during Panthers scrimmages vs. Ravens

Taylor Moton vs. Calais Campbell
The Carolina Panthers are still using Taylor Moton at both tackle positions as they try and come up with the right blend to ensure Sam Darnold gets the necessary protection he needs next season.
His production on the right has been ultra-consistent. Although this might diminish somewhat on the blindside, it might be a decision the coaching staff is forced to go with thanks to a lack of quality options.
This is something Moton has been taking in his stride throughout training camp. He’s a team-first guy that is rarely flustered, which played a leading role in the Panthers giving him the lucrative four-year extension he was thoroughly deserving of.
Should the Panthers continue implementing Moton at left tackle during practices with the Baltimore Ravens, then matching up with Calais Campbell will be something not to miss.
The experienced edge rusher appears to have plenty left in the tank judging by last season’s efforts. Although Campbell’s powers are far from what they were in his prime.
That being said, Moton will get a big test against a 6-foot-8 defensive end that simply knows every trick in the book. If he impresses going up against Campbell and others during reps on the left, then Carolina needs to take the prospect of switching the former second-round pick incredibly seriously.
