Jaycee Horn will mark his Carolina Panthers debut with an INT

Matt Rhule stated that Jaycee Horn was not at all happy to be kept out for their first preseason game at the Indianapolis Colts. But the cornerback is set to get some reps under his belt at Bank of America Stadium against the Baltimore Ravens.

Horn has made a lasting impression throughout training camp, bringing a swagger and alpha mentality that has gone down extremely well with players and coaches alike.

Obviously, there will be moments of struggle for Horn as a rookie – which is expected of first-year cornerbacks no matter where they are drafted. But at least from early impressions, there should be far more good than bad where the South Carolina product is concerned.

Patrick Surtain marked his debut with the Denver Broncos with a pick-six at the Minnesota Vikings last weekend. That is the target for Horn to aim for and he’ll be extremely aggressive in pursuit of leaving his mark on the field.

If Horn can create a turnover and provide a solid contribution overall, this is all the Carolina Panthers are probably looking for at this stage. The son of former Pro Bowl wide receiver Joe Horn’s reputation is growing with each passing week, so taking another giant leap forward with production when it matters is the next stage in the player’s development.
