What are some pros and cons to the Carolina Panthers potentially acquiring Andre Dillard from the Philadelphia Eagles before the 2021 season?
There has been plenty of chatter regarding the Carolina Panthers and their suspect options at left tackle heading into the new campaign. This has been a revolving door of failed veterans and underperforming draft picks since Jordan Gross hung up his cleats after the 2013 season, which is something that needs to change at the earliest possible opportunity for Matt Rhule’s men to finally re-enter the playoff picture.
The Panthers made some eye-catching additions this offseason. But the offensive line remains a patchwork group that continues to be relatively ignored considering its importance.
Scott Fitterer recently stated Carolina was confident in Cam Erving despite his difficulties on the blindside since entering the league as a first-round pick. However, the general manager added that upgrading their options is something they’re considering, especially since they recently traded draft bust Greg Little to the Miami Dolphins for a seventh-rounder.
One name that’s coming up plenty is Andre Dillard. According to FanSided‘s Matt Lombardo, multiple teams have expressed an interest in acquiring the left tackle should the Philadelphia Eagles give up on the player this offseason.
Asking around on Andre Dillard, following @Jeff_McLane's report that the #Eagles have received calls on the former first-round pick, and I'm told "quite a few teams" are in the mix and have already expressed interest in the 25-year-old offensive tackle.
