Kenny Robinson – Carolina Panthers S

There were few players on the Carolina Panthers with more at stake this offseason than Kenny Robinson. The 2020 fifth-round pick struggled to make the impression required last time around and was even cut by the team before coming back onto the practice squad, so his future with the franchise was on the line this summer.

Robinson has taken this challenge head-on, impressing during camp drills and also in the first preseason game at the Indianapolis Colts. The former XFL star has been approaching every day with a greater sense of urgency, something that hasn’t gone unnoticed by those in attendance or Carolina’s coaching staff.

This is a nice surprise and something not many associated with the Panthers saw coming. Robinson has a ton of talent, but putting it all together when it counts was a real stumbling block during his initial transition as a rookie.

What comes next will be equally as important for Robinson. He has to continue this level of production during the next two weeks before the final cuts are announced, which should make him a lock to secure a roster spot.

Not only this, but Robinson’s performances could lead to a prominent spot on the safety rotation considering the lack of depth behind projected starting duo Jeremy Chinn and Juston Burris.
