Who were the big winners and losers from the Carolina Panthers’ second preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens?

It’s still preseason, but Carolina Panthers fans were able to get a slightly better idea of what their team’s starters might look like in the regular season after Saturday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Well, at least what the starting defense could look like.

Offensively, things were a mess for Carolina as they lost 20-3 and the Ravens extended their preseason winning streak to 19 games. Starting quarterback Sam Darnold only played in one series, going 1-2 for 16 yards. D.J. Moore and Christian McCaffrey didn’t see the field.

It was the first strong defense that had its chance to shine for the one quarter they played in. Although it was a scoreless quarter for both teams, the Panthers looked superior in the short time they were on the field.

Overall, it was a pretty ugly game offensively. The first touchdown wasn’t scored until midway through the third quarter by the Ravens. There were also some ongoing issues that persisted such as failing to convert in the red zone and on third downs.

It’s not time to start panicking since many starters haven’t played. But those issues need to be fixed in the next two weeks before the Panthers take on the New York Jets.

With that said, here are this week’s three winners and three losers from Carolina’s second preseason outing.
