Jalen Julius – Carolina Panthers CB

If Jalen Julius was hoping for a bounce-back game after struggling at the Indianapolis Colts, it’s something the cornerback didn’t manage to accomplish. The Carolina Panthers now have a big decision to make regarding the player, who doesn’t appear capable of making a massive difference if he somehow earns a roster spot in the coming weeks.

Julius was once again sluggish in coverage during the second half against the Baltimore Ravens. He did come up with one notable pass defense, but overall his production wasn’t up to scratch.

Perhaps the one saving grace for Julius will be injuries in the cornerback room. A.J. Bouye is still sidelined, Troy Pride Jr. is out for the season with an ACL tear, and fifth-round pick Keith Taylor Jr. went off to further complicate matters on the depth front.

This could ensure Julius gets one more shot at changing perceptions. But it’s unlikely that the former Ole Miss star will see any meaningful reps with the starters set to come in more prominently to close out the preseason schedule.

All Julius can do now is wait to hear his fate. However, any reprieve he receives if the player survives the latest round of cuts might be fleeting unless some drastic improvements are made over the next week or so.
