Frankie Luvu – Carolina Panthers OLB

There is some real momentum building for Frankie Luvu at just the right time. Something the outside linebacker deserves a great deal of credit for.

One could argue that Luvu has been the Carolina Panthers’ best performer over the first two preseason games. His relentless motor and impressive instincts have come with some eye-catching plays along the way, something that doesn’t go unnoticed by the coaching staff en route to finalizing their depth chart.

Luvu was a solid if not spectacular performer throughout his time with the New York Jets. But it’s clear he is keen to make the most out of this opportunity in Carolina.

The former Washington State star finished the game with three tackles, one pass defended, and one quarterback hit. Luvu seemed to be everywhere on the field and this sort of spark is something the Panthers desperately need within their linebacker corps.

There is absolutely no doubt that Luvu is making the team now. The player is also right in contention for a prominent spot on the rotation if he continues to progress encouragingly before coming up against his former team in Carolina’s season opener.

Of all the pleasant surprises to emerge from the offseason, Luvu might just be top of the pile.
