Terrace Marshall Jr. – Carolina Panthers WR

Jaycee Horn has left an encouraging mark, as have most of the 2021 NFL Draft class. But the impact made by wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. makes him this year’s Best Rookie at training camp.

There was a real sense of excitement finally seeing Marshall out on the field after being held out of the voluntary offseason period and rookie minicamp while he recovered from injury. This was the right call to make by the coaching staff judging by what the LSU product has shown so far.

Marshall came up with some incredible highlights during team drills, scrimmages, and the two preseason contests during training camp. Joe Brady knows exactly how to get the best out of the player from their time together with the Tigers, with his presence in the red zone something else that cannot be ignored.

Adding someone with Marshall’s skill set to a passing attack that already consists of D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson, Christian McCaffrey, and David Moore is a true embarrassment of riches. One that will hopefully enable quarterback Sam Darnold to thrive in a different environment.

Just how the Carolina Panthers will deploy Marshall when the real action begins is still unclear. But his talent and transition to the pros indicate a large role could be in the offing right out of the gate.
