Greg Little – Former Carolina Panthers OT

The writing was on the wall for Greg Little from the moment a new regime came into the Carolina Panthers. This made his task of bouncing back from a disappointing rookie campaign even more difficult, something that he simply didn’t have the talent to accomplish when it’s all said and done.

Little saw limited action with the starting unit during training camp. He even spent a considerable period of time at left tackle at the Indianapolis Colts when Trenton Scott was taken out due to some discipline issues.

This was the final chance for Little to convince the coaching staff he was worth keeping around. Something the former Ole Miss star simply couldn’t do.

In what was probably a welcome relief for the player and the Panthers, Little was traded to the Miami Dolphins for a seventh-round pick, officially confirming his status as one of Carolina’s biggest-ever draft busts.

When one considers the questions surrounding the offensive line and left tackle in particular, Carolina’s decision to cut their losses with Little is a damning indictment of what they thought of the player’s production this offseason.

Trading up to select Little in the 2019 NFL Draft was a grave error in judgment from those in power at the time. A mess that Scott Fitterer and his staff are in the process of cleaning up in a double-quick fashion.
