5 bold predictions for the Panthers preseason finale vs. Steelers
By Dean Jones
Carolina Panthers will win by double-digits
Although any notable victory would have to be taken with a pinch of salt considering the Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t putting out their best options, it’s still a nice chance for the Carolina Panthers to make a statement in pursuit of hitting the ground running when competitive action finally arrives.
If the Panthers cannot do some significant damage against Pittsburgh’s second string, for the most part, there will be far more questions than answers heading into the season.
This is the one and only time the team’s fanbase will see its starters on the field for more than a fleeting contribution this preseason. Carolina has opted to focus their attention on more reps in joint practices against the Baltimore Ravens and at the Indianapolis Colts, so it remains to be seen whether this strategy pays off when it’s all said and done.
According to WynnBET, the Panthers are favored to win by four points at Bank of America Stadium on Friday, a shift of 1.5 points following Mike Tomlin’s revelation that Dwayne Haskins would assume command under center.
However, if everything clicks into place right from the outset, a more commanding victory could be in the offing.
Asserting their dominance on inferior talent is the minimum requirement for the Panthers. If this is matched by solid execution, then a commanding triumph to end the preseason is guaranteed.
