Justin Reid – S

Justin Reid is one of the few remaining players with talent on the Houston Texans roster.  Entering the last year of his rookie deal, could the organization be talked into moving the safety?

The Carolina Panthers would be an ideal landing spot for Reid, who would slot in and form a profitable tandem with Jeremy Chinn on the backend in this scenario.

The question is whether Houston is willing to move the fourth-year player. They seemingly have shipped out almost every other member of last season’s roster and will be trading franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson seemingly any day.

Reid is a bit of an off-the-radar move, one Carolina should be trying to make happen considering his fit in the defense and the Texans’ ongoing incompetence when it comes to winning a trade.

Having someone like Reid anchoring the backend of the Carolina defense is a perfect scenario that would make the Panthers a real force to be reckoned with in the secondary.

For Reid, it would allow him to rebuild value heading into a contract season. Something he is unlikely to do if he remains with Houston.

It’s already been a busy week for Carolina’s front office. One that hopefully ends with a roster on the cusp of taking a huge step forward and bringing them back something they have lacked since Cam Newton left – relevance.
