4 teams that could sign Will Grier after Carolina Panthers release

Will Grier could join the New York Jets
Zach Wilson is the future for the New York Jets but at 22 years old, Will Grier could be a reliable veteran quarterback to back him up and help him adjust to the NFL.
Currently, Mike White whose never played in a regular-season NFL game is Wilson’s backup, meaning if things don’t work out, the Jets will be in big trouble.
Grier might only be entering Year 3 in the NFL but he’s likely learned a lot behind veteran quarterbacks like Cam Newton, Teddy Bridgewater, and Sam Darnold. Something that might be of some use considering the other options on the Jets depth chart behind their prized No. 2 overall selection.
That experience alone could only benefit Wilson.
Ironically, Grier is leaving the Carolina Panthers after playing behind Darnold. The guy that Wilson is taking over from at MetLife Stadium after a three-year period of significant struggles.
The playing experience might not be there. But his age and the number of veterans he’s played with certainly could help a Jets team trying to move on from their misery years.
Whether the Jets are willing to go with what they have is anybody’s guess. But injuries happen in the NFL and Grier could provide some stability if he builds on an encouraging preseason.
