4 teams that could sign Will Grier after Carolina Panthers release

Will Grier could join the New York Giants
Just three years ago, there were some fans that wanted the New York Giants to wait until later in the draft and select Will Grier as their future quarterback.
While Daniel Jones, who was taken No. 6 overall that same year still hasn’t proved he’s the guy in New York. So it’s probably a good thing the Giants didn’t wait for Grier given his inability to make a big difference since entering the league as the Carolina Panthers’ potential heir apparent to Cam Newton.
However, he could be a solid backup for Jones as Mike Glennon is currently listed as the No. 2 and hasn’t exactly set the world alight.
Grier and Jones actually only grew up 30 miles apart in Charlotte and have experience playing against each other in high school. Glennon has more veteran nous, but the former third-rounder could help push Jones a bit more and create a more competitive quarterback room.
The offensive line is an issue for the Giants, which could hurt Grier’s progression. But it depends how much New York really liked him when they were scouting the player a few years ago.
Jones has plenty of pressure on his shoulders in 2021. Another campaign of underachievement will undoubtedly see the Giants pursue other options and Grier might be a nice security blanket.
