Darryl Johnson has a Carolina Panthers front office connection

It’s unlikely this move happens without some significant input from a former Carolina Panthers linebacker that joined the team’s front office recently. Dan Morgan was a much-loved player during his stint with the organization and is developing quite the reputation for assessing and picking out talent now he’s on the other side of things.

Morgan was part of the Buffalo Bills staff that took a late-round flier on Johnson in 2019. Something that paid off better than they probably anticipated.

The Panthers got some useful insight into Johnson from Morgan, who probably knows him better than most. Proof that everyone has a voice and is respected in the new decision-making process in Carolina.

What’s important for Johnson is that he repays this faith shown in him by Morgan with solid production, integrating himself well within a young locker room, and demonstrating a solid attitude when it comes to developing his skills.

If he can do this, then the Panthers might just have something in Johnson, who boasts a 6-foot-6, 253-pound frame and is still just 24 years old.
