5 free agents the Panthers should sign to strengthen their 53-man roster
By Nick Halden
Could the Carolina Panthers pick up another veteran or two from the free-agent market to strengthen their 53-man roster in 2021?
It is a tough week ahead for the Carolina Panthers. One that will see a lot of players’ dreams end as cuts are made across the league by 4 p.m this afternoon (Tuesday). While this may be a misfortune for many, it is an opportunity for a front office that’s been extremely active this offseason.
The Panthers are a team who still could use a lot of pieces even after a solid draft and offseason overall. There are plenty of veteran free agents who remain unsigned likely waiting until after training camps and the recent preseason schedule to latch on with a new team.
For the Panthers, this is an opportunity they need to take advantage of.
With the right veteran additions and a good season from Sam Darnold, this is a team that is going to be in the wildcard chase – providing some problem areas of the roster such as the offensive line don’t become too much of a weak link.
Carolina Panthers need the right free-agent fits to progress in 2021.
It is a team that should be looking for experienced players who can mentor and contribute to a winning effort – not individuals attempting to sign with an organization in the last attempt at a ring.
Carolina isn’t in that position.
They need contributors who will help them take a step forward in their rebuild. Here are five such players still sitting on the free-agent market that the Panthers should take a look at.
