Todd Gurley – RB

The Carolina Panthers had an up-close look at the failed Todd Gurley experiment with the division-rival Atlanta Falcons last season. After a blistering start to life in the NFL, the running back has suffered one of the more memorable career collapses in recent memory.

He went from a top-five back in this league to a player who may not get another shot at a starting role. Injuries and a poor offensive line in Atlanta are to blame for what could have been a very different career for Gurley.

Carolina’s potential interest in Gurley is as a rotational piece after Chuba Hubbard’s impressive camp and preseason.

Adding Gurley with Hubbard and Christian McCaffrey would give them an intriguing running back rotation that could offer problems to any defense.

Giving Gurley one last chance in Carolina is a no-risk move for a team that wouldn’t need him to be an elite contributor. Rather a compliment to what appears to be an already strong backfield.

If Gurley were to even bounce back to a fraction of what he was with the Los Angeles Rams, it would be a dynamic trio for Carolina to utilize.  If he is willing to be a second and third option it certainly wouldn’t hurt to give the player one more chance.
