Tyrell Crosby – OT

As stated previously, the Carolina Panthers offensive line has the scope to make-or-break the 2021 season. This bears more significance at the left tackle position, with Cam Erving’s production on the edge since entering the league something that leaves more than a few reasons to be concerned.

Couple this with the Panthers opting to move Brady Christensen to the right-hand side and it’s not hard to see where a potential problem could emerge.

If the Panthers want to scour the waiver wire for a quality backup that could become a swing offensive lineman, then Tyrell Crosby is someone to take a good look at. The veteran was released by the Detriot Lions and has previous experience of manning the blindside in college for the Oregon Ducks.

Crosby is never going to blow you away with elite athleticism. But the progress he made in pass protection in 2020 was encouraging and the former fifth-round pick can operate almost anywhere on the line of scrimmage for good measure.

The Panthers might decide to go with what they have for the time being. A massive gamble that could have some huge ramifications if things don’t pan out as they hope.
