Carolina Panthers vs. Philadelphia Eagles – Week 5

Has there been any team in recent history that went from Super Bowl glory to bottom of the league dysfunction as quickly as the Philadelphia Eagles?

Watching Nick Foles lead the Eagles to a Vince Lombardi Trophy was the ultimate underdog story and simply fun to watch. Fast forward a few years and the veteran is a third-string quarterback for the Chicago Bears and Carson Wentz is starting for the Indianapolis Colts.

This would all make sense if not for the fact the Eagles traded Foles to provide Wentz job security – only to draft Jalen Hurt.

Wentz was benched in 2020 and subsequently traded, leaving Hurts as the man to lead Philadelphia moving forward despite his relative lack of professional experience.

The level of dysfunction in Philly is frightening despite the fact in the right situation Hurts is a good quarterback.

This is a team that once again seems to be setting up themselves and their quarterback for failure. It is going to be a tough season for the Eagles and their fans, so the Carolina Panthers should benefit from it with a Week 5 win at home to continue their outstanding start to the campaign.

Prediction: Carolina Panthers 19 Philadelphia Eagles 17 (4-1)
