Carolina Panthers vs. Atlanta Falcons – Week 8 and 17
If Dan Quinn were still the head coach in Atlanta, the Carolina Panthers would sweep that team easily. Unfortunately for Carolina that isn’t the case.
The Falcons have a new offensive head coach, someone that could see the team become much like the Panthers and head into fringe wildcard contention.
Bouncing back after a dismal season allowed them to draft a rookie who will haunt the Panthers for years to come in Kyle Pitts. A player with the potential to revolutionize the tight end spot.
Offensively is where Atlanta is going to present a huge challenge for the Panthers.
Ryan is the second quarterback – Dak Prescott being the first – Carolina will face who is clearly better and will have a big advantage over Sam Darnold.
Still, I believe Carolina has enough defensively to offset the mismatch and pull out one of the two matchups. It will be a draw this season between the Falcons and the Panthers with each side taking a game.
The Falcons winning the first game on Matt Ryan’s arm and superior offense while the Panthers will rely on their defensive scheme and home-field advantage to steal a win in Week 14.
Week 8 Prediction: Atlanta Falcons 27 Carolina Panthers 20 (6-2)
Week 14 Prediction: Carolina Panthers 24 Atlanta Falcons 21
