The Carolina Panthers are gearing up for their opening game of the 2021 season when they take on the New York Jets at Bank of America Stadium in Week 1.

Things are about to get very interesting for the Carolina Panthers as they welcome the New York Jets for the first game of the 2021 season. This comes after an eventful offseason period of player movement following the introduction of general manager Scott Fitterer, which leaves the coaching staff working with a vibrant, energetic group of players capable of real progress in the coming months.

Carolina is coming off their second successive 5-11 campaign. But things would have looked far better had they managed to close out contests a little more efficiently after being largely competitive, for the most part.

New York had the No. 1 overall selection locked up until late in the campaign, eventually finishing with a 2-14 record and dropping to second in the draft as a result.

The stakes are much higher for head coach Matt Rhule in his second season as head coach. He will not want things to get off on the wrong foot with defeat against one of the league’s worst teams in 2020.

Panthers vs Jets Odds Week 1

The Week 1 betting odds on WynnBET have the Panthers as 3.5-point favorites to get their season off to the best possible start. They have -200 money line odds, while the Jets are the underdog at +175. The total for the game is set at an over/under of 43.0 points.

Panthers vs Jets Prediction Week 1

This will be tabbed as the Sam Darnold revenge game, and rightfully so. The quarterback has a significant point to prove after the Jets gave up on him this offseason in favor of taking BYU phenom Zach Wilson at No. 2 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Robby Anderson should also make his presence felt against his old employers. Carolina’s defense will fancy their chances of giving Wilson some big-time problems during what’ll be a nervy first competitive outing in a professional environment for the rookie.

The atmosphere is going to be electric at Bank of America Stadium. Something we feel will spur Carolina on to a 27-20 victory in Week 1.
