D.J. Moore – Carolina Panthers WR

One could argue D.J. Moore is the closest Carolina Panthers player to join Christian McCaffrey as a genuine superstar. The wide receiver is coming off his second straight 1,000-yard season and is hoping new quarterback Sam Darnold can provide more consistency than the Maryland product’s ever had under center during his three years in the NFL.

Things certainly got off on the right foot between Moore and Darnold in the team’s preseason finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The wideout caught all six of his targets for 48 receiving yards, with the timing between the two something that really caught the eye.

This is a big season awaiting Moore. If everything goes right and he stays free from injury, then it would be a surprise if his numbers don’t see the 2018 first-round pick enter the elite discussion.

His partnership with Robby Anderson will last the next two years at least after the veteran penned a new contract this offseason. Of course, Moore is after a new deal of his own which is likely to come at a great substantial cost to the Panthers.

Something they’ll be more than willing to pay if Moore takes another leap forward in 2021.

Moore’s charisma, big playmaking ability, and fun-loving approach to the game make him a hard guy to root against. If things progress as expected, then Carolina will have another star on their hands as a result.
