Jaycee Horn – Carolina Panthers CB

Picking the Carolina Panthers’ rookie first-rounder may not be a popular take however accurate it may be. Jaycee Horn is going to be a good corner in this league, but it is a walk into the unknown for the South Carolina product initially.

Even if it is only the New York Jets, there is going to be a steep learning curve for Horn.

There will be moments early this season he is going to struggle and Week 1 isn’t going to be an exception. Horn does catch a break in the fact his first start will be against the rookie Zach Wilson, who enters the league with an extremely high ceiling put of BYU.

Simply put, Wilson is unlikely to be able to manipulate Horn the way many veterans could with a rookie corner.

Horn needs to keep a next snap approach both against the Jets and in the weeks to come. He is a very talented corner who is going to make plays and at times will gamble on occasions, which could end up being something of a liability overall.

Corey Davis and Jamison Crowder are the expected starters for New York – although the latter is now on the COVID-19 list. If both play, they’ll give the rookie everything he can handle.
