5 Carolina Panthers players on the hot seat heading into 2021 season

There will be some obvious scapegoats where the Carolina Panthers are concerned if things begin poorly. Hopefully, this won’t be the case, but expecting the worst and hoping for the best is the way things have been over the last few years with the 2015 Super Bowl run now a distant memory.
One player who’ll instantly carry the can is Juston Burris. The veteran has some serious heat on him heading into the 2021 season after regressing last time around once he returned from a rib injury that hampered his production.
Burris actually played well over the first half of the campaign before injury struck. Something that’s been long forgotten given his inconsistencies down the stretch.
Carolina gave him one more chance of cementing a starting position long-term on the final year of his deal in 2021. The presence of Jeremy Chinn on the backend is something that could also be a massive asset to call upon.
The Panthers are adopting an aggressive mindset. So if Burris starts slowly or makes a few errors early on, the change should be immediate.
The likes of Sam Franklin and Myles Hartsfield would be installed instead. The pair of promising players arrived as undrafted free agents last spring and could be set for more involvement this time around.
