5 shining stars from the Panthers win vs. NY Jets in Week 1

D.J. Moore – Carolina Panthers WR
Robby Anderson was paid by the Carolina Panthers this offseason. D.J. Moore – his partner in crime at wide receiver – is looking for something greater in terms of salary in the not-too-distant future.
The Maryland product certainly made a good start in his bid to enter the elite discussion. Moore was a constant force in the passing game and came up with a number of big catches in key moments to play a leading role in his team’s eventual success.
Moore finished the game with six catches from eight targets for 80 receiving yards. The Panthers also got a little creative with the 2018 first-round pick, who generated one carry in the run game for 14 yards.
This is all very promising in terms of Moore’s outlook in 2021. The chemistry he’s displaying with quarterback Sam Darnold is something the wideout’s never had before in a professional environment, although there will be far bigger challenges to come starting next week against the New Orleans Saints at Bank of America Stadium.
Moore is a key component in any progress Carolina makes this season. There is a growing belief he can emerge as one of the best in the business – if he isn’t already – which would be beneficial for the player’s wallet and the signal-caller’s pursuit of redemption following his trade from the New York Jets.
