Sam Darnold – Carolina Panthers QB
Sam Darnold got the last laugh in a solid Week 1 performance against his former employer, the New York Jets. The quarterback picked up where he left off after a nice preseason outing against the Pittsburgh Steelers, completing 24 of 35 passes for 279 yards and two total touchdowns.
Perhaps the most impressive stat, the fourth-year player was only sacked once.
Carolina’s new QB finished in the top 15 of fantasy points amongst quarterbacks with a total of 19.06. According to Fantasy Pros, Darnold is still available in the vast majority of leagues.
If you’re unsure about your QB, now might be the time to take a flier on the Panthers signal-caller.
Start or Sit for Week 2?
SIT.
I doubt the New Orleans Saints hold Darnold below five fantasy points the way they did against reigning league MVP Aaron Rodgers in Week 1. However, their defensive line is a huge threat as long as Cam Jordan is on it.
This may be another low-scoring, defensive battle, let Darnold chill on the bench this week.
