Carolina Panthers CB Jaycee Horn gets his first NFL interception

Jaycee Horn did not see the amount of action he was looking for in his professional debut. But, that is what you are looking for if you’re a Carolina Panthers fan.

You want opposing quarterbacks to be fearful of going in Horn’s direction as they look for him to take over the CB1 role in the not-too-distant future.

The South Carolina product was only targeted four times and ended the day with three tackles. He did give up a fourth-quarter touchdown to Corey Davis, but turn on the film, and Horn’s coverage was about as good as it could get.

That is life in the NFL.

Jameis Winston is coming off a five-touchdown performance and he has always been a gunslinger. Horn has shown an aggressive press cover ability so far in the small sample size we have seen.

The Panthers have had success in the past in facing Winston. Carolina picked off the former No. 1 overall selection on 14 occasions in his 10 games started.

Carolina picked off Winston five times and caused two fumbles during their 2019 game in London.

Horn is going to use his aggressive playing style to try and jump some of the New Orleans receivers’ routes and Winston will be ready and willing to throw it around after his Week 1 success.
