Juston Burris – Carolina Panthers S

Juston Burris contributed to the Carolina Panthers’ defense against the New York Jets. He must be at the top of his game this upcoming week.

Jameis Winston loves to throw the deep ball and for the most part, he is accurate. Burris was one of two players on the defense that played 100 percent of snaps on Sunday, so he’ll be an important cog on the backend alongside Jeremy Chinn.

Burris must produce if he’s lined up in the box or back deep at the safety position. He will have to keep his head on a swivel and read the eyes of the New Orleans Saints quarterback.

The veteran totaled one interception last season and it was certainly an eye-catcher. Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan threw the game-winning interception to Burris. His coverage ability must be in full effect in Week 2 versus this Saints offense.

Against the Jets, Burris made a noticeable tackle that was able to happen due to the defensive line. Stopping Alvin Kamara will be the biggest test for this defense, so creating lanes for the North Carolina State product to stuff will be needed.

Everyone on this defense must contribute, but Burris will be needed more than ever this week. He has the chance to really stake a claim against a good offense in the Saints.
