7. 15. 26. 87. Final

Who were the shining stars from the Carolina Panthers’ home game against the New Orleans Saints at Bank of America Stadium in Week 2?

All eyes were on Bank of America Stadium for a pivotal early-season NFC South divisional matchup between the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints. This was the first real test of the campaign for Matt Rhule’s men, who breezed through their opening contest against an inferior New York Jets and knew more was needed in this one.

If this was a measuring stick, it was a good one. The Panthers got off to a hugely impressive start and managed to see the game out comfortably to come away with an eye-catching 26-7 victory to get themselves to 2-0.

There won’t be much time for Carolina to make adjustments before their Thursday Night Football clash at the Houston Texans to kick-off Week 3. This represents another good opportunity for the Panthers to achieve success, but much will depend on how this young roster responds to only a few days of recovery before traveling to NRG Stadium.

Without further ado, here are five shining stars for the Panthers from Week 2’s outstanding win.

Brandon Zylstra – Carolina Panthers WR

This was the big opportunity Brandon Zylstra had been waiting for in pursuit of more involvement on offense in the weeks and months ahead. It’s safe to say he made the right impression during an outstanding display overall.

The wide receiver finished the day with three catches from as many targets for 44 receiving yards and his first NFL touchdown. Not bad for a player that was on the roster bubble right until the final cuts were made.

Carolina has plenty of mouths to feed in the passing game. But Zylstra has at least proven he’s capable of making a difference when called upon.
