Morgan Fox – Carolina Panthers DL

Although others on the Carolina Panthers are generating more buzz on the defensive side of things, one cannot overlook the contribution Morgan Fox is making to a loaded defensive front.

The free-agent signing from the Los Angeles Rams turned in a performance of the highest quality for the second straight week, which is yet another positive for a dynamic group that could be among the league’s best when it’s all said and done.

Fox doesn’t blow you away with elite speed or mind-blowing stats. But he is extremely good at creating havoc and doing the little things that make a big difference.

His style of play seems to compliment the talent Carolina has accumulated on their front seven. If they were going relatively under-the-radar before Sunday’s dominant win over the New Orleans Saints, that’s no longer the case.

The defensive lineman finished the game with 0.5 sacks, two tackles, and three quarterback hits. However, one has to look way beyond the stats to see just what a difference he made in the grand scheme of things.

Fox looks like another shrewd bit of business by the Panthers. One that is sure to reap even greater rewards as the campaign goes on.
