Mark Ingram – RB

Running back Mark Ingram hasn’t done anything eye-popping through the first two weeks of the season, but he’s still got a fairly good track record throughout his career and has enjoyed plenty of success against the Carolina Panthers in the past following his time on the New Orleans Saints.

Ingram scored a touchdown in Week 1 but struggled this past week. He should be expected to be used a lot more though with Davis Mills at quarterback and if the veteran presence can generate some early momentum, the better Houston’s chances will be.

Houston will be looking to get their offense going in any way possible if Mills struggles. Ingram is one of the most experienced offensive players on the roster and needs to make his presence felt.

Carolina obviously has the defense to stop Ingram judging by what we’ve seen over the first fortnight. Opposing running backs haven’t done anything against the Panthers so far, but Ingram will be looking to break that trend.

If Ingram is silenced by Carolina’s defense, the Texans will be very limited in what they can do with the ball on offense. Especially if this means they have to rely on Mills to move the chains.
