5 most important Carolina Panthers players at the Texans in Week 3
Which Carolina Panthers players could be the most important at the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football?
After another win in Week 2, the Carolina Panthers’ strong start to the 2021 season continued against the New Orleans Saints. Straight out of the gate the offense scored a touchdown and never looked back. It was domination throughout the game.
This momentum must continue against a Houston Texans team that wants to win just as badly as the Panthers. They have playmakers on both sides of the ball including Brandin Cooks, Justin Reid, and Zach Cunningham.
Carolina cannot overlook this game and continue the mentality they had the past two contests. If they do this, then another positive result should follow.
The Panthers are heading into Houston under the bright lights for Thursday Night Football, and they must go in with a dominating demeanor.
With all of that being said, here are my five most important Panthers players in Week 3.
Player No. 1
A.J. Bouye – Carolina Panthers CB
A.J. Bouye sees a familiar foe in Week 3. In his Carolina debut, I know he wants to play top-tier and show out for the fans. He will come off of his suspension and look to make rookie quarterback Davis Mills’ life difficult during his first start under center.
With Bouye coming back he’s expected to play the nickel/slot role on defense. The pressure the defensive line is producing many hasn’t seen the secondary tested as yet, but getting Bouye back into the mix is still a massive plus.
The defensive line causing havoc can force erred throws resulting in an interception for the veteran. Bouye is heading into his Panthers debut on prime-time football and he will be more than prepared to perform on Thursday Night Football.
