Christian McCaffrey – Carolina Panthers RB

I’ve run out of ways to say Christian McCaffrey looked awesome.

New Orleans once again held the former All-Pro under 80 rushing yards, but McCaffrey picked up 137 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown. That output was good enough for 24.70 fantasy points which is the norm for those lucky enough to have the running back on their roster.

That group may not like this, but the coaching staff has to get Carolina’s other backs – Chuba Hubbard and Royce Freeman – more touches moving forward, especially with an extra regular season and possibly playoff games ahead.

This bears more significance in short-yardage situations. The Panthers would be wise not to keep banging McCaffrey up the middle in pursuit of preserving his health for bigger challenges to come.

Start or Sit Week 3?

START.

Easy decision, but here’s some stats.

Through two games, Houston has allowed 116 rushing yards per game and 375 passing yards per game. McCaffrey should get plenty of opportunities to exploit the Texans on the ground and in the passing game.

This could be a bonanza in terms of fantasy football points for McCaffrey. Those up against the former first-round pick this week could be fighting a losing battle right out of the gate.
