Carolina Panthers injuries

Injuries suck. Plain and simple. And Thursday’s game did the Panthers no favors as star running back Christian McCaffrey left the game with a strained hamstring, rookie cornerback Jaycee Horn broke multiple bones in his foot, and safety Juston Burris pulled a muscle.

Thankfully, D.J. Moore stayed in the game after what looked like a potential injury scare but all the injuries that the Carolina Panthers suffered might have a long-term effect on the rest of its season.

The biggest loss will undoubtedly be McCaffrey depending on how long he’s out. Hamstring injuries can linger and it’s starting to look like another lost season for the former All-Pro.

Horn will also be out for a while, potentially the season with his fractures, ending what looked to be a very promising start to his career.

Yes, the win is nice, but the injuries put a huge damper on it. How the Panthers respond to this adversity will tell us plenty about the depth at their disposal and the atmosphere within the locker room.

Even with a win, it somehow feels like a loss. Thankfully for the Panthers, they now have some additional preparation time before taking on the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4.
