Robby Anderson – Carolina Panthers WR

The 2021 season has not been kind to Robby Anderson at all.

Since getting a new contract extension before the season began, Anderson can’t seem to find himself as involved in the offense as he was last year and is struggling to connect with Sam Darnold.

Anderson had his lone touchdown in Week 1 but has just four other catches in addition to that one. On Thursday, he was targeted a mere two times and had one reception for eight yards.

He was wide open early in the game but Darnold didn’t see him, and the chemistry just hasn’t returned from their time together with the New York Jets.

D.J. Moore is outshining Anderson by a large margin through the first three weeks of the year and the former Temple star isn’t living up to the money he was paid this offseason.

It’s still early, though, so the chemistry between Darnold and Anderson should eventually begin to bloom again. Especially considering the close relationship between the two.

One thing is for sure, if Christian McCaffrey is missing for a few weeks then Anderson will resume his status as one of the team’s focal points. Something he has to take full advantage of.
