6 hot college prospects that should be on the Panthers 2022 draft radar

R.J. Roderick – S (South Carolina)
The Carolina Panthers could use some assistance at safety in 2022 if they decide not to extend Juston Burris. His production so far this season has been encouraging, but those in power might decide the time is right to find a college prospect that could become a long-term partner for Jeremy Chinn.
If this scenario comes to fruition next spring, then R.J. Roderick is a name to watch.
The South Carolina safety has been a dynamic figure on the backend for the Gamecocks and according to respected draft analyst Charlie Campbell of WalterFootball.com, his production has caught the eye of several league scouts.
Roderick has the size and physicality to more than hold his own in the pros. Having a player such as Chinn alongside him will only assist his transition from the college ranks into an environment where there is no margin for error.
Carolina could do far worse than look at Roderick. Jaycee Horn and Shi Smith will know plenty about the player being former teammates, so it might be worth seeking their thoughts before making a judgment for themselves.
Most draft analysts have Roderick projected as a second or third-round prospect currently. Something that might even increase if production continues trending in the right direction.
